Assistance in picking a mediterranean cruise?

Hot Dawger asked:

I am looking for options for a romantic Honeymoon and i thought 2 week mediterranean cruise would be wonderful. Is there a site that allows you to put what ports of call you would want to go to. I would love to see the pyramids in egypt, take a night gondola ride in venice. go to lovorno italy (i think that is where pisa is). And then go from there but would need a site that allows you to search via ports of call does anyone know of such a site

The vacations to go ticker will allow you to choose one port you wish to do and it will give you a list of cruises that hits that port. But they only allow you to choose one.

There aren’t any cruises that will allow you to customize your cruise unless you do one of the smaller private cruises. Your best bet is to organize the ports you wish to do in an order of priority and call a travel agent that can spend the time looking for the ones that best fit your itinerary. Or check out the Vacations to Go site and spend the time digging around there.

I have been on 2 Mediterranean cruises and have one booked right now for later this year that has two stops in Egypt, one of which will allow us to see the Pyramids. It’s on a Royal Caribbean ship leaving from Barcelona: =&promoType=&hasSenior=&hasMilitary=&state=

There are lots of cruise options for the Mediterranean so you have to look carefully at the different itineraries to see which one you prefer. You cannot search by port stops but you can review cruises by itinerary to see if all or most are included in the one you select. You can go to cruise line web sites like Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, and Norwegian and look at their offerings.

If you want to get to Pisa (it’s on the West side of Italy near Florence) and Venice (which is on the East side of Italy), plus Egypt, you may need to do a longer cruise of 14 to 18 days for it to reach all of the ports you want.

On our first Med cruise out of Barcelona we visited Nice/Monte Carlo, Florence/Pisa, Rome, Naples, Athens, Ephesus, and two Greek Isles, Santorini and Mykonos. That was a great cruise and I do recommend it. Also you do not want to miss seeing Rome if you have not been there before.

As far as I am aware, there aren’t any lines that do both the Eastern and Western Mediterranean as a single cruise.
There is a 12 night cruise that starts from Venice (with an overnight in Venice on the ship)and finishes in Barcelona, stopping at the places you want to see except Cairo.
