The Wife asked:
Does anyone have any experience with the Carnival Cruise line? I am going on a cruise in June and want to know the good, the bad and the ugly on them… food? service? rooms? etc.

ive heard from several ppl that its a very good cruies line. the food is supposed to be excellent and the service is all really good.
have fun
I have and loved it…I have been on 3 with them total….rooms…small but aw some.Service great!
The food was yummy and there is all ways food around!
You’ll have lots of fun!
I heard the service is TERRIBLE and the people that work there hardly speak English and are extremely rude.
i heard they are really good i have personally never been on one but im going on one this summer look up your cruise online. and any cruise is great i have been on others but not carnizal.. hope you have a great time on your cruise!!!!
my cousin went on a cruise with carnival! she said the food is great, the service is pretty good, but in terms of activities, they’re not as great as other cruises she’s been on.
Every cruise line has something they lack compared to other cruises, so it’s just a matter of finding the cruise line you like best!
Ive been on a few. Mostly because they are super affordable. The crew members are usually awesome. They will go so far out of their way for you. The rooms are cleaned everyday, and are spotless. Sometimes they leave little origami style towel animals. Leave your sunshades on the bed and they will probably put them on the animals that they make. Its realy funny. Roomservice for most anything is FREE! When you go for your meal at night and you get something that you dont like just tell them and order something different, or one of everything. Its all inclusive. The only downfall realy is you have to pay for softdrinks or alchohal, But i would deffinatly reccomend buying a Coke card when you get on, because the free water is terrible. Carry plenty of sunscreen and have fun. I have had a blast on everyone I have ever been on.
We have sailed Carnival 6 times. We have also sailed Disney and Royal Caribbean.
Must like classes of hotels, cruise lines have the same levels of service.
Carnival would be equal to a good moderate rate hotel. Good amenities, good service, good options. Food is good but not exactly gourmet.
But if your looking for the Ritz Carlton, Carnival is probably not the experience your looking for.
Carnival is great for families. Good value and the atmosphere is good for kids of all ages. The dining is casual enough that parents are not scared to death to take the kids to the dining rooms.
The shows are entertaining and the rooms are nice.
The pros can also be the cons for Carnival. If you don’t want to be around a good number of kids, aged from toddler to teens, Carnival is not the cruise experience you are looking for.
With two daughters, a teen and a tween, we enjoy the fact the budget friendly fares allows us to book 2 cabins instead of one. My teen loves the 24×7 pizza.
We have been on Carnival 4 times and have always been very satisfied. The food is world class. Carnival has the best beds at sea. The service is very good, in fact, they’ll spoil you rotten. One bad thing is that all the deck chairs are saved while everyone is eating breakfast. When you fill out your questioner prior to debarkation, gripe about this. Other cruise lines have a 15 minute rule on chair saving. Be sure to order the chocolate melting cake in the main dining room any night. It’s to die for. We think the drinks could be a little cheaper, especially since drink sales are down due to the economy. I would mention this also. Over all, Carnival is the best bang for the buck in the cruise industry.
I cruised carnival and I had a blast I would rate them excellent in all categories
They have excellent food and serivice. I have been riding with them many times.
We went on the carnival legend this past new years… it was amazing!!! no complaints!! the service was excellent! all the staff on board was super friendly. food at dinner wasnt five star but it was pretty good. desserts were awesome. there wasnt long lines or anything. we got a balcony room that had a little more space then the ocean view and interior. it worked out perfectly with three of us. we could have downsized if we needed to. the shore excursion were outstanding. you’ll have a ball.
I went on a Carnival Cruise last spring break. We liked it so much that we are going back again this year. The food is good. There is so much of it. Make sure you go to the midnight buffet. It is awesome! Service is fabulous. The waiters in the dining rooms are really nice. They get to know you very well by the middle/end of the week. For example, they did this huge birthday song/dessert thing in the dining room for my birthday. Also, after the first day, they will know exactly what you want to drink and will have it waiting for you when you get there. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms were actually bigger than I expected. It was overall a great experience.
