Hot Dawger asked:

I had my perfect cruise picked out and my fiance said she can’t do it because of the days. We need a shorter cruise so if you were on a 7-9 day cruise you loved please let me know.

Also any must see ports would be helpful here is my list of cool ports:
Santorini,
Athens,
Venice,
Rome,
Naples,
Livorno,
Nice,
Monte Carlo,
Barcelona

If you can add any cities you liked to that as well as let me know any cruise / cruise line you liked.

Thank you for your help

Looking at your list of ports I see basically 2 cruises here.
The one is from Barcelona to Rome.
The other one would be Venice to Athens.
I really like the Barcelona – Rome type, since you get Spain, France and Italy in one go – and the most important and fun places in there.

I would go for that kind of cruise and see if you can stay 2 days before boarding in Barcelona and 2 days after wards in Rome (or one day each place)

I have done two Mediterranean cruises so here’s my opinion. Our first Med cruise was a 12 day cruise that went to Rome, Naples, Livorno, Nice/Monte Carlo, Athens, Santorini, Mykonos, and Kudasari, Turkey.

First, Venice is on the opposite side of Italy and the Mediterranean Sea from all of the other port stops you listed. So you can shorten you cruise very easily by eliminating it. I have been to Rome (Civitavecchia), Naples, and Livorno (Florence/Pisa) and you will see more and better sights in those cities than in Venice.

Our first Med cruise went to Santorini, Athens and Mykonos in Greece. The Greek islands are beautiful and a must. Athens has the Acropolis as the main historical attraction that you may not want to miss.

If I was going to scratch any other ports it would be Nice and Monte Carlo. We toured both and they were OK but not “do not miss” type stops. In my opinion Rome is the number one “do not miss” port stop.

Barcelona is the usual departure port for Med cruises if they do not begin in Venice or in England. So it will likely be your starting point.

My suggestion for a 7-9 day cruise would be one leaving from Barcelona with port stops that included Rome, Livorno, Naples, Santorini, Mykonos and Athens. Here are some 7-day cruises on RC: =&cruiseTourOnly=false&dest=EUROP&duration=07&date=ANY&port=BCN&ship=ANY&selectedCurrencyCode=USD&price=ANY&state=&x=59&y=6
