I have AT&T iPhone 3G. The cruise is Carnival and is going to be from Long beach, California to Catalina and Insanada, Mexico. They said we can get internet and phone service but I want to know how good it will be.

Yes at&t works just about everywhere. I have them and have used them on cruises and in various countries without a problem. The reception and service is very good, just like if you were using it at home. To use it at sea it costs $2.49 per minute, and the rates per country vary. If you do not have an international plan it will be a little higher. You may also want to consider texting instead of talking its a lot cheaper. Also remember to turn your phone off when not in use because they charge for every single call that comes through whether you answer or not.
when i went a few years ago to mexico i had sevice. but only when we were docked in mexico, not while in the sea.
and when we went to hawaii last year, same thing.
im going on one next weekend too, and was wondering if the wifi is free cus i have an iphone too.
Greetings Royal Princess!
Yes your Tel E will work just fine……..Most cruise ships have boosters that will help you get reception. One thing you may want to have the royal assistant do is check to see if you have an international calling plan for your cell tel E. If you don’t have an international plan it could cost you your kingdom! Enjoy and have a great time!
You will be fine, but just watch out for the roaming charges! When you get to Mexico, they go SKY HIGH.
Its good. 1-10 rating 7. ROAMING FEES APPLY!
Yes. Call AT&T, tell them where you’re going and what port of call you will be at. You will then get rates for not only on-board the ship, but also while on land.
When I called AT&T to get rates for my trip, I was told they have an agreement with the cruiselines for reduced rates.
Even while out in the middle of the Caribbean, my husband was able to use his phone, which was not as good as yours, and was still able to get strong reception due to the ship’s technology.
Have Fun.
Probably only when you are in a port or just off the coast a couple of miles.
hmm it sounds like carnival pride?
i was on pride and it just says that its roaming when you are at see but you get charged for the calls. and when the ship is docked and you are on land, you definitely get service!
